My Commitment to You
I show up prepared, on time, knowledgeable and fully invested in making your event a success — because your audience's experience matters as much to me as it does to you.
Meet Carolyn
I've spent 26 years learning what actually works — not in theory, but in the middle of real life. I raised two daughters as a widow. I built a successful interior design firm.
I built Modern Widows Club® | The Movement for Widow Care® from my living room into a global movement, all while still managing the everyday work of running a home and guarding my own health along the way.
That's where my frameworks come from: not a single credential, but decades of lived, practical experience across the full range of what a woman's life actually holds. Today I'm honored to serve on New York Life Foundation's national Bereavement Support Advisory Council, and to walk alongside widows everywhere who are ready to lead.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Most organizations book 3-6 months out, especially for keynote dates tied to a specific conference or awareness date (like International Widows Day, June 23). That said, reach out even if your timeline is tighter — availability is confirmed case by case.
-
Yes. While Carolyn has signature topics she's refined over years of speaking, every engagement is shaped around your audience — whether that's a healthcare system, a financial services firm, a faith community, or a general conference audience.
-
Not at all. Carolyn's talks connect widowhood to women's health, workplace policy, economic security, and healthcare systems — making her a fit for HR and DEI events, healthcare conferences, financial services audiences, and policy-focused gatherings, not just grief-specific ones.
-
A keynote is a single, polished talk designed to inspire and inform a full audience. A workshop is longer and more interactive, designed for smaller groups who will actively engage with the material — better suited for staff training or breakout sessions where deeper dialogue is the goal.
-
Yes — Carolyn is available for both in-person and virtual engagements. Investment and format can be discussed based on your event's needs.
-
Every engagement includes a pre-event planning call, a customized talk or session, and promotional materials for your marketing. Travel and accommodations for in-person events are typically arranged separately — this can be clarified during your custom quote.
